Recommended Podcast – J.C. Hutchins’ UltraCreatives

I found this great podcast series while searching iTunes for things related to creativity. In this series of interviews, podcaster/author J. C. Hutchins, author of the 7th Son fiction series, speaks with a number of content creators, bloggers, and entrepreneurs including:

  • Scott Sigler
  • Guy Kawasaki
  • Jeff Pulver
  • Chris Brogan
  • Jason Calacanis
  • Mur Lafferty

And others.

These interviews were published in 2007 – 2008 and they’re excellent listening.  Hutchins is a great interviewer and gets some great comments and insights from the people he interviews.  I strongly recommend these podcasts to you if you are interested in learning more about content creation, blogging, podcasting, entrepreneurship, marketing, etc.

You can find these podcasts on iTunes or at the UltraCreatives website.  Listen to the interviews; you won’t regret it.

More Broadcasting Brain recommended podcasts

Here’s a couple of recommended podcasts, to add to the list that I published a few months ago.

Stephen Fry’s PodgramsStephen Fry was a wonderful voice and does all kinds of work as a voice actor (e.g. the narrator for the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie and for the BBC children’s cartoon Pocoyo) as well as a live actor on stage, television, and films. He’s recorded five podcasts (or podgrams) to date. It’s wonderful, warm, witty, semi-melancholy stuff. Hey, House fans: did you know that actor Hugh Laurie (House himself) was once part of a British comedy duo called Fry and Laurie? Stephen is the Fry!)

You Look Nice Today – this podcast, while not an unkind show, is still not for the faint of heart or mind. Clever word plays, irreverence, and all around silliness prevail as this podcast cranks out thoughts and dialog at a rapid pace. Definitely not for children. I really like it – it’s a podcast about nothing but it’s highly entertaining.

As a general tip, if you’re looking for interesting, varied, and thought provoking podcasts, I strongly recommend that you check out the websites from the folks who make great radio programs, like the BBC, CBC, and National Public Radio.

Broadcasting Brain Recommended Podcasts

I haven’t listed to a lot of podcasts, but I’ve certainly taken in a few good ones during the past year or so. In no particular order, they are:

Elite Tech News Podcast – some of today’s best tech bloggers get together and talk about the latest happenings in consumer technology and other related areas.

The Drill Down – a weekly tech news and social news broadcast by the three top Diggers, always interesting and fun. Also check out Drill Bits, the often funny extras that don’t make it in to the regular Drill Down podacst.

Social Blend – CGT2099, SilentJay74, BDog2g2, Nomadelle and other guests cover similar ground as The Drill Down, with social news site Mixx acting as the center of the universe, I mean podcast.

Six Pixels of Separation – Mitch Joel talks about business, marketing, social media, and communications.

I’m interested in other podcasts, particularly revolving around social media and technology, although science fiction and pop culture would be good, too. Any recommendations?

Also, if anyone ever wants a guest voice, someone who’s not that up on technology, you know who to contact. ;-)
