Rollip reviewed and a give-away for Broadcasting Brain readers

I don’t normally review products related to graphics, images, etc. but I thought I would give this one a try.  I was contacted by a representative from Rollip, a company whose website offers a service of adding effects to photographs.  I had not heard of Rollip prior to being contacted by them.  You upload a photograph to their website and select the effect that you’d like to apply to your photo.  Then they create both low-res (for free) and high-res (for a paid account) versions of the photo that you can download.

Here’s more information from Rollip’s representative, Maurice:

We at Rollip.com have developed a new site that gives any digital photo a new look and feel by offering 40 filters ranging from 70’s vintage to more modern ones. We’re trying to spread the word about our service, and we think readers of ‘Broadcasting Brain’ would be interested in what it can do.

Extra effort has been put into giving users a selection of high-quality filters, resulting in some photographers to use our service for their professional work. While Rollip is free for smaller images, we do offer additional high-quality processing.

Here are some examples of what the filters do,  using a couple of photos that I uploaded.  The first photo is the original, the next two have filters applied:

Here’s a few other examples with another photo – all four have the filters applied:

The good folks at Rollip have provided me a link to their site to let up to 15 people use the high-res service on a trial basis.  Click here for the link to Rollip’s website to sign up for a trial account.  This will give you up to 30 credits, equal to 30 high-res photo transformations using their service.  After that, there’s a fee for additional filter work on your filters (check with Rollip to find out more about this).

I’ll be the first to admit that I have little experience with these kinds of services, but the filters look interesting and, hey, you can do up to 30 images for free and then decide for yourself if you’d ever like to do more.

One minor favor, if you wouldn’t mind.  If you choose to sign up for one of these accounts, would you kindly @reply me or DM me on Twitter or E-Mail me at markdykeman@gmail.com and let me know please?  You’re not obligated to do so, but I’d like to know if that’s OK with you.

Remember, the first 15 people who sign up for this offer are the only ones who get the free trial!

Enjoy!
