Links to what other people are writing about this week
I haven’t done this in awhile. This is a link post, taken from some of the items in my Google Reader Shares. Google Reader, in case you haven’t seen it before, is a website that allows you to subscribe to the RSS feeds from blogs. This gives you a single point of contact, a single website, where you can read blog posts from your favorite blogs.
When you create a Google Reader account, it automatically creates a special web page of Shared Items (here’s my Shared Items page. When you read a blog post in Google Reader, you can click on the Star icon to bookmark it for future use. However, starred items are private. If you want the rest of the world to see what you are reading in Google Reader, you can mark it as Shared. You can also add commentary to Shared Items for other people to read.
Here are a few of the links in my Google Reader Shared Items, which by definition are blog posts that I think you might find value with as well:
Stop Procrastinating: 9 Quick Tips to Adopt the ‘Now’ Habit – Glen at PluginID.com gives some tips about taking action now
The Innovator’s Prayer Gregg Fraley shares some ideas about innovation during a speech in Belgium
Google Reader Adds Comments for Social Conversations – more about Google Reader’s new features from Louis Gray at his blog
TWELVE MORE Ways to Crank Out Killer Posts in Ten Minutes or Less – in a follow-up to his other similar blog post, Michael Martine aka Remarkablogger shares more good ideas from his readers. Definitely worth checking out.
Personal Branding: Be careful what you wish for – Beth Harte weighs in with a thoughtful post on personal branding. Beth’s been in the marketing and communications business for close to 15 years and lectures as an adjunct professor in addition to running her own firm, so I’d say her opinion is definitely worth considering.
Finally, a quick note to a post that was actually from LAST week: the always thoughtful Chris Brogan writes about Platform Thinking in Personal Branding.
Feed your mind and check these out!
