Let me tell you about my story, first of all I'm really sorry for my english !!! I was in a horrible state , my friends betray me and left me alone So I thought I could find some nice people on internet to be friends with ... I was never annoying or something but when I tried to be someones friend and asked someone on myspace how are you ? if you want to have a new friend I will always be glad to speak with you ! that's it , I was not annoying but people was always ignoring me and a lot people BLOCKED me , if I write to them I write only once in a week or a month and ask how are they, if they need something, I don't know why the hell this people use web-sites to BLOCK someone who really needs an inteliggent conversation or really needs a friend ? why are people so snobs ? if you do not look like a barbie or u're not cool enough on your pictures they treat you like a garbage they destroy your ego, I was horribly depressed when I've lost my childhood friends when they betrayed me and after I tried to open my heart to someone new by internet they made me feel more horrible, it happened a lots of times when I helped someone when they were depressed and needed my advice I was happy to help those people but when my ex-boyfriend got married with another girl and I was crying and really wanted someone to help me back or just to give me an warm hello everyone ignored me !!! I use internet during 6 years and I couldn't find an open hearted person, they prefer to comment on Jefree stars photos 100 times in day then help someone who really needs a friend ! I was Blocked and ignored a lots of times but believe me I was never clingy person , if i write to someone It was really rare, I just once try to make someone understand that I need a new friend, and if he she ignores I just ask why did u ignored me and if he/she won't replay ofcourse I won't write agein, my heart is really fool of anger, and NOW I try to not write or care about others because I know that they will ignore me , cuz it happened a lots of times ...

Mark,
I loved your post on ignoring people and why we do it! I quoted it in my own blog post, which talks about the devastating effect of employees ignoring consumers, which is becoming more common-place. Great blog, great post, thank you!

Sometimes it is for reasons like my own. I fell into a deep dark depression that lasted for years. Something I still fight to this day. I just didn't want to see or talk to anyone. I literally shut myself out from the world. It had nothing to do with my friends. Although some of their successes both personally and professionally made me feel like a loser. I still loved them but just didn't have the mental energy to interact with the world. It sucks. I lost some good friends because of my depression. Even years later when I tried to reach out and explain they just wouldn't return my phone calls or e-mails. A taste of my own medicine I guess?
