Another virtual hero – Rex Hammock

EDIT:  the phrase virtual hero is a reference to this blog post:

I’ve only recently discovered Rex Hammock (at RexBlog.com), but I’m really enjoying his ability to say a lot without using needless words.

Here is an example:

All God’s children are media companies:

The New York Times is asking, “Is Google a Media Company?” That’s a question debated on this blog for at least four years. For fun, I used to argue Google was not a media company. But, of course, they are. So are you. So am I. We’re all media companies now.

The next link is to a longer piece, but it’s a good analysis of communication styles focusing on the Wizard of Apple:

Steve Jobs is a great communicator except when he’s not

Like every thing else about him, when it comes to corporate communications, Steve Jobs is an enigma.

Rex then conducts a crisp review of Jobs’s communication style.

These are just a couple of examples.

I once asked the following question on Twitter: who is the equivalent of Walter Cronkite on the Web? One person told me that Rex Hammock came closest.

We can all make that assessment on our own. I think that Rex is a good source of writing and ideas and so I’d recommend checking out his blog.

Actually, I made me blush for a minute, too. What can I say? Thanks for stopping by, Rex.
