Happy Canada Day – with links
Going to divert a bit from our normal programming to recognize a special event:
In honor of Canada Day 2008, the 141st anniversary of the foundation of the Dominion of Canada, here are some links where you can find out more about Canada.
Heritage Canada is a federal government department. This webpage on their website provides the history of the Canada Day holiday, formerly known as Dominion Day.
This link tells you what’s happening in Ottawa and surrounding areas.
Toronto isn’t the capital of Canada but it is the biggest city – here’s what’s happening for Canada Day in Toronto.
On a related note, this week also marks the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec City, capital of the province of Quebec and the first major settlement in what’s now known as Canada.
Have a Moosehead, Molson, or Labatt’s Blue on me today – it’s OK if it’s an Export version.

Coral Snake, didn't you think Canada would have a national holiday?

Hey Mark, Happy Canada Day to You!
1 July 2008, 8:03 pmI'm off to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display and show my gratitude for the opportunities this country has given me.
When I crack open my Moosehead, I'll certainly be toasting you and this post.
Thanks.
Mark Dykeman:
Cheers, Pamela!
