		<description>Part of the problem with social media in terms of influencing is that you can buy votes for your cause.  Take for example the many forum offers where you can "buy" votes on such sites as Digg, delicious, and others and artificially increase the importance of your message.

It basically comes down to those who have the means to buy the support of others exert more influence over the rest of us.
