@Trisha - I've read this comment over several times to make sure I was correctly interpreting what you are saying. I think there's some constructive criticism here, but you haven't really elaborated enough for me to be sure. Perhaps you could drop me an E-Mail to discuss further?

I think the key thing you said there was about the "enough substance to keep you coming back."

To be completely honest Mark, nowadays I think you might be fitting definition #1 instead of #2. But these posts way back here, in January, those are #2... but not in the toilet way...

@Dr. Mani - thanks for your comment. You do bring a good point about being "genuine" in a "genuine world", but I guess I'll have to read Seth's book to really get the point. I still think that a "purple cow" isn't a real cow or else it's just a real cow in disguise, but ultimately it's a metaphor.

Mark, I don't think you missed the point, just went at it from another angle.

'Remarkable', in Seth's book, is "worth talking about". If you are 'genuine' in a world of fakes, you are automatically remarkable - just as a purple cow would be remarkable in a world of brown cows.

Also, if everyone is 'genuine', then 'genuinity' in and of itself will NOT be remarkable - just as you'd ignore a field full of purple cows - especially if you'd just passed 10 of them on your drive before reaching it!

In a cluttered world where attention spans are short, being unremarkable is to be practically INVISIBLE. Shouting to get consumer attention is no longer effective or economical. Being remarkable shortcircuits this limitation - and expands your influence inexpensively.

The cost, however, lies in daring to go to the edge!

All success
